He's absolutely an antihero; yes, he's on a mission to save the world, but does he care about saving the world? This is the person who read and loved Six of Crows. They aren't two girls that hate each other then become friends. This is the collectors edition. Nevertheless, this was so much fun. I got it today, and I squealed with delight when I saw it. I absolutely understand what's appealing about their dynamic; they're sweet and have amazing relationship development. I do really want to comment on my favorite part of this book.
There's also the fact that a chubby main character is portrayed as the most beautiful member of the group, while also not being reduced to her appearance. Next, Kaz recruits Jesper Fahey. What did you do to me in your dreams? I'm not just talking about the romance with a certain pair, I'm talking romance among several. Each one is a different race, different background, and has so many layers. I read the first book in the trilogy, but didn't notice that this book was written by the same author. I haven't read any books from Leigh Bardugo before.
I think I initially four-starred A Court of Thorns and Roses despite not liking it at all just to seem Hip and Down With The Teens. I liked but didn't love the Shadow and Bone trilogy, but it has nothing on this novel. This has been: my full review of Six of Crows. He was my favorite of favorites. Six of Crows duology has been my best read of this year so far! The delivery too was before two days of the estimated date and I couldn't be happier. And even if he is too poor to give you any of them, it won't matter because he will have taken the time to know you as no one else does. Great service by Amazon, as always.
So it goes without saying I give this book 5 stars. Setting: Ketterdam and Fjerda are the two main locations and each of them have a distinctive atmosphere of their own. I can't believe I'm about to say this but. Each one is so different from the other. So many well planned out plot twist. A runaway with a privileged past.
This book is seriously the best thing. Beautifully designed, with an exclusive Letter from the Author and Six stunning Full-Colour Character Portraits. These two gave me everything I wanted in characters and more. This series handles emotional and physical trauma in the best way. It is filled with cut off and run on sentences. They were all so intriguing with fascinating life stories. Even with the massive amount to sexual tense and stolen glances it still doesn't even overshadow the plot.
He's dynamic enough and he's got a great character arc, but I don't feel as if he's nearly as original a character as my five. You could've left me heart intact instead, but? It was the perfect book to reach my goal with. Inej and Nina stand out as well; extra credit for passing the bechdel test with flying colors. Bardugo is a master at an ensemble cast, and it is a joy to see her wonderfully crafted characters come to life. This is the same as using the minus symbol. We have the leader - Kaz - who is an intimidating criminal prodigy with a secret past. The packleader is an anti-hero, which, in my opinion, is the best kind of character.
But someday you'll meet a boy who will learn your favourite flower, your favourite song, your favourite sweet. There are twists and turns, the world-building is excellent and solid and everything is woven perfectly. The plot is essentially about an action-packed, fast-paced heist. I'm sure for many of us, no matter how many books you read, there will always be that one book that can never be replaced. I love them all, especially Inej and Nina and Matthias, but I need a moment to talk about Kaz.
He was a child caught up in a war he didn't choose for himself, while they tried to make space in him for more rooms to kill off innocence in. The Dark Between Stars- Atticus Then for Christmas, I received: The Witch of Willow Hall- Hester Fox 3. I think that's the book's greatest strong point, the characters. I already want to re-read it and I could quote it all day long. There is an extremely high dose of sassiness and the dialogues are witty and crack you up. Even if the characters would have faltered they don't it wouldn't have mattered because the plot and world building are so solid.
